It quickly becomes clear to all but the most casual observer that Dan is the band's lady's man. Dan, the love child of a Danish piano teacher and a Puerto Rican dance instructor, charms the ladies in the audience with his beguiling salsa-inflected keyboard vamps, seductive eyebrow motions and colorful feathered fedoras. "When we're on tour, if I walk by his hotel room door and I hear Tito Puente," says fellow band-mate Josh with a shrug, "I know he's getting busy again with a groupie. I just walk away... I know I'll hear about it the next day anyway." Dan cut his chops early in life playing Afro-Cuban styles, but he lists influences as diverse as Franz Liszt and Liberace. "I play what works... if you know what I mean," says Dan with a wink.
