Don

Don almost never learned of his gift for lead guitar.  Born on a 2,000-acre corn and soybean farm in Iowa in the mid-1960s, he worked long hours - even as a boy. "I was required to cull impurities off conveyor belts of dried seed corn.  The belt would run at a full clip for six consecutive hours - you had to have fast fingers."  By age 16, Don leveraged his hand agility to impress girls with magic tricks, shadow animals and juggling.  But when Don was 17, his girlfriend dumped him at a Lutheran church square dance outside the aptly-named town of Waterloo.  "She fell for the banjo player," said Don, wincing a bit.  The next day, Don picked up a second-hand acoustic guitar, and never looked back.  Having memorized the entire Al di Meola catalog in 1994, Don now devotes his time to perfecting guitar solos in his own style, which is a bit like Nick Cave meets Lita Ford, only faster.
